Mary Alice uses warmth, humor, and empathy in therapy sessions to prioritize connection, insight, and growth. Her primary focus is supporting clients to develop increased resilience and adaptability for whatever life throws their way. Mary Alice primarily utilizes techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), & Narrative Therapy, as well as Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for OCD treatment. Her approach is proactive and authentic, with an emphasis on supporting clients to develop effective skills and resources that help reduce distress, build insight, and strengthen resilience. She is passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+, ethically non-monogamous, and kink/BDSM communities, as well as those living with anxiety, OCD, debilitating perfectionism, burn out, depression, low self-esteem, chronic pain/illness, and neurodiversity. She is also committed to acknowledging how race, gender, sexuality, class, body size & ability, immigration status, and sociocultural backgrounds shape the perspectives we bring to therapeutic practice and impact her client’s lived experience.
