Mary Alice uses warmth, humor, and empathy in therapy sessions to prioritize connection, insight, and growth. Her primary focus is supporting clients to develop increased resilience and adaptability for whatever life throws their way. Mary Alice primarily relies on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy techniques to support clients with developing effective skills and resources that help reduce distress, with the aim of building a more fulfilling, joyful, and peaceful life. She is passionate about working with members of the LGBTQIA+, ethically non-monogamous, and kink/BDSM communities, as well as those living with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, chronic pain/illness, and neurodiversity. She is also committed to acknowledging how race, gender, sexuality, class, body size & ability, immigration status, and sociocultural backgrounds shape the perspectives we bring to therapeutic practice.
