Brittany Trexler, LCPC is an eclectic sex therapist who is incredibly passionate about education and providing therapy to marginalized communities. Brittany’s approach to working with couples, non-monogamous groups, and individuals borrows from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Person-Centered approaches, Attachment Theory, Systemic views, and more. Brittany believes our experiences connecting with others is what makes life both meaningful and just plain fun. Humor is a staple in working with Brittany, and she encourages people to feel they can discuss the “uncomfortable” topics of sex, kink, race, trauma, and whatever else they want to bring into the room.
Brittany is incredibly passionate about education for queer communities and polyamorous acceptance. As a therapist and doctoral student, she dedicates much of her time to learning about and advocating against harmful practices from the past. Brittany knows that the therapeutic profession has often been harmful and dismissive of people who held queer, trans, poly, kinky, and other marginalized identities. In her work, Brittany aims to give space for all people to feel included and comfortable in therapy.
You might enjoy working with Brittany if you are:
