Sara uses metaphor, narratives, and humor to help clients find compassionate, strength-focused ways of creating the change they want in their lives and relationships. Sara uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques to assist clients with restoring old strategies, or developing new ones, to respond to the challenges of modern living and parenting. Sara is mindful of the person in the community when she joins with clients; she seeks to help clients find strategies and skills that enhance their ability to achieve healthy and enjoyable relationships with children, partners, and others.

Sara earned her Master’s in Social Work and Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia University. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice from The George Washington University. She has completed training through Postpartum Support International and The Seleni Institute, and is a perinatal mental health certified provider. She works well in the intersections of gender, sexuality, and ethical non-monogamy. Sara has experience working with a wide variety of mental health symptoms through her work in rural community mental health.
